Don’t Let ’em See the Strings…Or, They will Know that You are Faking

When watching science fiction television or film, the last thing you want to see is the strings flying the spaceship. It destroys credibility. In the same way, using the gospel to manipulate people ruins trust. Do not let the ends justify the means. Instead, consider Matthew 25 love to be the true motivation for your Christian offering. The Good News will shine so brightly that people will desire and inquire.

Innovation: Love others as He loves us.

Desired Outcome: To magnify the name of Jesus and display His amazing grace.

Packaging Your Offering with Care (Even If Others Do Not)

If you have traveled to Japan, you know that even a small package of gum is wrapped beautifully and presented with incredible attention to detail. It seems to make the contents more valuable. If you were to receive the product or service you are offering, how would you like to receive it? Packaged like an iPhone or thrown into a brown paper bag for you to figure out?

Innovation: Include the product or service packaging into your product development.

Desired Outcome: To validate the real value of the person and offering together and seperately.

An Egg Doesn’t Have Any Screws…(and, Never Will)

There is a story that when Apple CEO Steve Jobs was presented with final version of the iPod, he studied it and returned it to his product development team saying, “an egg doesn’t have any screws.” In other words, find a solution and fix it. Design was not an afterthought, nor is the experience. Can your design or experience be improved?

Innovation: Intentionally building great design and customer experience into your offering.

Desired Outcome: To engage and delight people beyond norms or expectation.
