Volunteer for Direct Service… and See the Real Needs Up-close and Personal

There is something about direct service that brings you right into the center of the problems that need solving. One radical idea is to volunteer for another agency or cause serving the same or similar community and see their challenges from a new perspective. If we continue doing the same things and expect different results, that’s plain foolish.

Innovation: Volunteer for another agency or cause to better identify real problems and create breakthrough solutions to unmet needs.

Desired Outcome: To see with new eyes to create something new.

Serve One Person at a Time…Even When the Need is Great

Before setting up systems or process to serve many, walk out the steps to make sure that your product or service truly addresses the needs of the one. Serving one person at a time in the intended environment of use, from start to finish, can be illuminating and cause real time epiphanies to unfold. Many good ideas created in the office may be intellectually smart but not practical in their application.

Innovation: Use real time validation for one person at a time before scaling.

Desired Outcome: To change the world by serving one person at a time well.

Grandparent’s Ministry Showing Up in Churches (What a Concept!?!)

Jesus loving grandparents can potentially lean into the spiritual lives of their grandchildren better than anyone else in their world. The love and lessons of a grandparent can be caught in ways that they cannot be taught. Grandparents can be intentional about planning and sharing God’s love into most every situation without ever being seen as preaching.

Innovation: Grandparents sharing God’s love through everyday actions and activities with their grandchildren.

Desired Outcome: Raising a new generation of Jesus loving young people.
